What is Origami?
Origami (from ori meaning “folding”, and kami meaning “paper”) is the art of paper folding, which is often associated with Japanese culture.
Since being introduced to Western culture, Origami has become an absorbing hobby for children and for adults.
Origami is also important in teaching symmetry; for many of the folds, whatever is done to one side is done to the other. In addition, paper-folding allows youngsters to create and manipulate basic geometric shapes like squares, rectangles, and triangles.
