Have some free time this weekend? Or just need to get started on your handy man list? The projects you choose don’t have to take up your whole weekend – with the right tools and a ‘can do’ attitude, you can make quick work of some smaller DIY tasks.
TO GIVE YOUR HOME A NEW LEASE ON LIFE, START WITH THESE THREE DIY TASKS:
1. TAKE UP SOME PAINTING.
Paint chairs, a dresser, an outdoor play set for your children. The job doesn’t have to be a big one and it doesn’t even have to be messy. Just make sure you have all the tools you need to get the job done and cover the floor with shade cloth or a plastic mat to prevent stains.
2. BUILD YOUR OWN HEADBOARD.
Repurposed wood or a soft cushion on wooden backing could mean a whole new look for your bedroom and a touch of warmth this winter. Once again, remember to have all the tools you need close at hand. Take care when hanging the headboard and be sure to avoid damaging any plugs or fittings. Though don’t worry, at Household Plastic, you can pick up any multi plugs and adapters you might need.
3. TACKLE SMALL BATHROOM TASKS.
Bathroom work can feel overwhelming, especially if you tackle full-scale projects like retiling a shower. Why not start with making your bathroom a comfortable place – put in place doorstoppers, hooks for hanging towels and toiletries, blinds and/or curtains depending on the need, and plastic jars and containers for storage. Where you can, go for plastic accessories – they can be more hygienic than other options, and will save you time and the risk of breakages.
Take charge of your weekend to-do list and feel the satisfaction of getting the smaller, but still essential, jobs done.
