Summer is here and it’s time to hit the beach with your family and friends. Are you ready? Do you have all the beach essentials?
The thing is… the beach is lovely but it can be messy too. And you won’t always be able to wash up or buy what you need in the moment. Better to be prepared with all your goodies packed and ready to use than try and sort yourself out once you get there.

Taking your Dog to the Beach
If you are taking your dog along, don’t forget a plastic water bowl. First make sure your dog actually enjoys the beach and then provide your pup with plenty of access to shade and fresh, cool water. Sure, you can play fetch with your dog—just make sure they have plenty of time to rest, get out of the sun and drink water in between games.
And don’t forget the toys – while the sea is fun, it’s not for everyone and you can’t spend your whole day in the waves. Make sure you have the following on hand to keep each member of your group entertained: buckets and spades, sandcastle toys and shapes, and fun activity sets such as a face painting kit. A sand shell and inflatable pool might also come in handy.
Our top hack for a day at the beach? To get all the water out of your ears after a day in the water, take along some balloons. After your swim, simply blow up a deflated balloon to pop your ears.
Whatever you pack, try to go for plastic – plastic items are the perfect choice for sandy, wet conditions. From plastic containers to inflatable toys, they’re easy to clean, durable, lightweight, and reusable (which is a cost-saver too!).
